Antonia Williams is a Brussels-based journalist specialising in defence, strategy and the weapons shaping modern war.
She holds an MA in War Studies from King's College London, specialising in asymmetric warfare, airpower and strategy.
From 2017 to 2021, she was based in Beirut, where she served as regional editor and breaking news editor at The Daily Star. During that time, she reported on Lebanon's anti-government protests, political and economic crises, and the Beirut port explosion, and contributed to Beirut Today. Her reporting has examined conflict, political instability, migration, human rights and the wider geopolitical dynamics shaping the Middle East and Europe.
Her work has appeared in The Washington Post, The Christian Science Monitor, Asia Times, openDemocracy and the Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI). She has also appeared on Italy's RAI and La7 covering developments in Lebanon.
Before moving to Beirut, she worked at the Center for American Studies in Rome, coordinating conferences on geopolitics, international diplomacy, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity in collaboration with policymakers, diplomats and academic experts.
Today, she is a defence and opinion contributor for an online publication in Brussels. She is also the author of War Brief, a newsletter explaining modern war through strategy, doctrine and state behaviour.
